Bonny
Gorsuch is a Pacific Northwest Folk Artist. She is a self-trained artist and
and her art medium is mixed using a variety of found and cast-off objects which
she forms into thematic expressions, often biographical. Most of these objects
are found in thrift stores where she searches for the hidden gems everyone else
has overlooked. These objects become creative elements to incorporate into her
assemblage-collage-fabric art. Her work has been described as happy, childlike,
colorful, heartwarming and whimsical.
Most recently she has been creating one-of-a-kind, fabric
collages which have a Beach, Islands, or Hawaiiana theme. Each is signed,
dated and numbered by Bonny. Bonny was born in Hollywood, California in 1956 and raised in a sunny Southern California beach city. In 1983 she moved to Oregon where she met Richard, was married, and became a mother. They have two sons: Colour Lee and Sketch Richardson. The family lives in a renovated 1930's beach cottage in Cannon Beach, Oregon, 100 steps to the sand and surf. Her saturated collage style of folk art decor has created a positive and happy home environment. Bonny owns and operates a shop in downtown Cannon Beach called MY BONNY. Here she sells old and unusual collectibles, antiques, vintage textiles, linens, shabby beach chic, her art work, and the art work of her husband, Richard. See www.CannonBeachArtist.com to view Richard's work. Please check back to my website often: it will always be changing as new things are added and other things sold. And, thank you for your interest in what I create. Sincerely yours--Bonny Gorsuch MY BONNY Cannon Beach Bonny is available to teach workshops in your city. Contact her
